Step into art. Transform your day. / by Laura Reagan

You feel it as you cross the threshold into Anderson Ranch - this sudden surge of energy pulling at your artistic side.  This human need to immerse your hands, eyes, and soul into a process of creating.  And all you need is right in front of you - sprawling buildings full of elaborate equipment, artisans exchanging insights and inspiration, gallery spaces highlighting devoted pieces, and visitors absorbing the bustling energy of it all.

Anderson Ranch Arts Center, nestled in the beautiful Snowmass Valley just outside of Aspen CO, draws in artists nationally and internationally as teachers, students, and artists in residence.   And what makes this program so appealing to established artists is amazingly available to anyone wanting to tap into their artistic side.   Programs and workshops are available in many different mediums, from woodworking to photography to printmaking to ceramics (just to name a few).  There is even an amazing camp available for kids & teens that fully engages their creative processing.

I was lucky enough to have a personalized tour, meeting many faculty members whose dedication and passion is passed on to those around them everyday.  It is a cherished environment where an artist can challenge themselves by exposure to such a vast talent pool.  Or dive into a new technique supported by the new knowledge they've gained through lectures and workshops.  It becomes a great place to witness this creative, dynamic process.

You can also support the arts through their extensive lecture series, artist talks, auctionettes, and gallery exhibitions.  If you find yourself in the area, check in to what's happening there.  And if your further away,  treat yourself to a similar experience nearby.  Indulge in a local art class, sit in on a museum lecture, or show up at a gallery opening.

Let the art energy flow.
